Someone once said to me…”Perfection is just a fancy word or excuse for Procrastination” and it made me think…

If procrastination is an excuse for perfection, then is perfection not also just another excuse for a hidden fear?

What is fear then…

…fear is an emotion created in our minds, whether true or false. So, if fear is an emotion, all it really is, is an energy that is in motion. Think about it for a second. E-motion. Energy-in-motion. If fear is an energy that is created by an emotion in our minds, then the antidote to fear, procrastination and perfection, should be, taking action!

Action is what will move you forward…

…afterall, it doesn’t have to be perfect action, because “imperfect-action” wins the day. Just one step in front of the other can make a big difference. It removes the feeling of ‘stuckness’ and perfection. It sets into motion forward movement and thinking.

We all want a better life, a better client, better income, better project, better job, but what are we willing to DO to change the trajectory of our current course? What imperfect ACTIONS are we willing to take?

I didn’t want to face the reality of the causes of my effects. I didn’t want to face ME. It was so much easier to blame my actions and results on external factors, rather than taking forward imperfect action to change the trajectory of my business and life. Somehow it was easier holding up a poker face to the world than holding up the mirror to myself.

So, I challenge you as the leader of YOU, of your organisation, your team, whether you are just starting out or seasoned business owner, what unique challenges are you faced with that you can take “imperfect action” on today to support forward movement in your thinking and in your business?
